[Editorial] How To Make A Hit Song

This days majority of our hit songs dont take more than 3 mins unlike the five minute standard. Artiste sometime in this age do a banger song less than 3min. One thing you need to look out for when writing a song is

1. know the message of the song.
2. write a verse that corrolate with the message of the song
3. 16 bars is not a must.
4. find your melody
5. repetition is allowed
6 know the trend in the industry

1. knowing your message -

Adekunle Gold is an example of  an artiste that knows the message of every song and do just exactly what he is expected. One thing you must do is to take control of the beat and dont allow the beat control you. If you allow the beat control you, you will have 4 different messages on a song.
And that is not the way to Go.

2. Write a Verse that Corrolate-

If ur chorus or hook is about booty and girls, your verse should not be about true love ish or anti Government stuffs or reality stuffs. Spell it straight.

3. 16 bars is not a must-
It can be so boring most times for a singer going on 16bars on every verse of a song, 8bars is cool. I can list Hundreds of singer with 8bars verse and are doing good.

4.Find Your Melody-  Artiste like Reekado BAnks, Wizkid, Tekno Dont have that great Voice of Sojay, Banky W etc but all they do is 'play with melody. You dont need a great voice before you sing with Melody. So therefore Find your  Melody.

5. Repetition is allowed -

Once u find your melody in a song you can repeat it make it a bridge. Repeat over and over again

6. Know the trend in the industry -

Roll with the trend but dont let the trend change you . Trend come and Go but u still got to be you

The list above is not a guarantee to you making a dope song in my next article we will anaylyse how Kiss daniel's Yeba and No Do turn out to be an anthem.
Ok , lets continue, on making a a hit song.

The above is my opinion and strictly my opinion having observed the nigeria music scene lately
