A group affiliated with Islamic State (ISIS) in Egypt claimed
responsibility for the crash of a Russian airliner in Egypt on Saturday.
But the claims have not been verified and some preliminary reports say
mechanical failure is to blame.
The Airbus A321, operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia, also known as Metrojet, went out of contact with air traffic controllers about 20 minutes after takeoff at 5:58 a.m. local time from Sharm el-Sheikh and crashed in central Sinai, where security forces have been battling with militants. All 224 PEOPLE on board were killed.
Some experts doubt that the militants in the Sinai Peninsula have the sophisticated weapons needed to shoot down the plane. It was flying at 31,000 feet when it lost contact with air traffic control.
Yet authority still needs to carry out investigation on the crash.
we will drop more as it unfolds.
